This is one of the best examples of making your competitors do your work. Every brand is looking for a simple and cost effective solution for marketing and pranks your competitor while at it, is just the icing on the cake.
All DHL needed to do was ship their boxes through UPS. Sounds simple right?
So DHL wrapped their boxes in a temperature-activated ink, so that when those boxes are cooled the boxes turned completely black and then ship them through UPS. But Boxes warmed up the black ink disappeared revealing large messages on the side of the boxes saying “DHL is faster.”
According to the folks at RightThisMinute, the prank was not done by DHL and was an internal creative competition held by Jung von Matt, a German ad agency. I sure no one at DHL is complaining about it, UPS well errr…..
