WAAAAAA! WAAA! WUUUAAAAAAAAA!! A baby is born. Panic sets in.
But here’s the kicker… it’s not human. It’s not even an animal.. it’s totally alien, and you’ve been tasked with giving it a name.
“What the F are you taking about, Monday Creatives?!” .. you may be asking ..

I’m talking about branding of course! A new development, a product, a service, or a concept… all things that can be extremely hard to define upon birth.
Just like a new baby, there is already a foundation and story built around this creation.
It came from somewhere!
Someone is already closely connected with it!
You’re looking right at it (in physical space or your minds eye) And it’s staring right back at you!
Monday Creatives is often put to the naming task . Parents (clients) come to us scared and anxious.. “What do we call IT?!”
Now we’ve already touched on the fact that this baby has a story.. and that’s precisely where we begin. The naming process is closely tied to the parents as we evoke this story that only they can know.
Let’s take a building for instance because we just recently posted about a new development called 372 9th.
Buildings are so fun because by deciding what type of personality you want to give this building we can appropriately appoint a name that will evoke that response. That will set it up to being in residents that understand and relate to it.
372 9th has many other options pre- pitch, but 372 9th clearly rose to the top. This specific building is transitional in design style, luxurious, amenity-rich and in an under-rated area of downtown Jersey City. The chosen name reflects an NYC quality where the name won’t get lost among a myriad of cheesy building names but will instead always provide an exact location and identify for a very specific product.

For marketing purposes, it takes out an extra connect we ask people to make by having to Google a building name to find it. It’s simple, it’s easy, it’s the One.
For more info about our work on this project visit the 372 9th portfolio spread.
And if you’re in need of a creative, thoughtful naming process, shoot us an email Info@MondayCreatives.com and tell us the story of your new baby.
Keep calm and see you Monday!
